Fans Filled to the Brim

I recently crossed off a major bucket-list item from my list.

What did I do?

I got to see my favorite band ever live.

So excited! (outside of the arena)

My favorite band?

Metallica, of course.

Now this concert was held in Century Link field in Seattle.

Which, if you’ve never been: it’s huge.

It’s where the Seattle Seahawk games are held, and major events that need so much space for so many people.

Like when Metallica comes to town.

A big venue for a larger-than-life show.

Soooooo many people came to this show. I don’t think I’ve ever seen this many people together in the same space before.

And I thought, how crazy!

A band that was probably considered super niche and out-there when they first started back in 1981 now draws so many metal heads everywhere they play that they need the biggest arenas available and they STILL sell out and have to turn people away.

You can probably guess where I’m going with this, right?

If you find yourself thinking that your handmade brand is too weird, or that maybe you need to go more generalized with your products to appeal to a wider audience, I want you to think of Metallica.

Because when you niche down, even further than you think you ought to, the people you attract are going to be the most loyal, supportive, and generous customers you can get.

Because it’s by being a rebel, by doing something different, by going against the grain… that you fill arenas to the brim.
